Week 01 - 07
We are meant to develop a story line or narrative, come up with an art direction or art style for a specific topic category. My group which consists of Ava, Mokshana, Melissa and myself, got Natural Disaster as our category and we decided to focus on Wildfires, specifically the Australian wildfires happening today.
Our working title is Friendly Fires Gone Bad.
Below is the moodboard established by the group for our topic regarding Wildfires.

Week 01 - 07

Below are sketches as to how the storyboard would flow according to the narrative.
Below is the developed storyboard for our animation. It also contains details on what elements would be included in each scene and the estimated length of the scene.
Below is the moodboard established by the group for our topic regarding Wildfires.
Below is the animatics created by Yeo Ava, a member of my group. It shows the flow of the animation with the voice recording. The voice initially belongs to an adults but was adjusted to sound like a child instead as to appeal to our target audience - children.
After Effects
Exercises were done with Mr Shamsul to help us familiarize with Adobe After Effects which we would be using to develop and produce our animation. We completed a series of text effects and path effect.
Animation
My role was to do the animation for Scene 1 to 4 and 6. I had to first plan out how exactly I wanted the animation to flow and which effects need to be used. Also to consider the timing for each element to move in and out of the screen.
Due to the heaviness of the animation on top the the software, I had to animate them according to their scenes. Scene 2 especially, needed to be split into 3 parts and animated separately due to its longer length. I mostly used Wiggle - position effect and trim path, but also explored other effects and ways to animate the scenes.
